Mama Mia! Mangiare!
The Hospitality Committee will work their magic
and transport you to an Italian trattoria when they serve up a
taste of Italy starting at 4:30 on Tuesday,
February 9. On the menu will be lasagna (with a
vegetarian and possibly a gluten free dish), Caesar salad, bread
sticks with herbs and butter, biscotti and the usual beverages.
Price of a meal is $7. |
Tick Tock, Tick Tock
Craftsmen Jim
Copeland and Terry Shay are
putting their wood crafting talents to use for the benefit of EE
once again. This time they are donating mesquite clocks, lazy
susans and a few serving boards to be raffled off at the Italian
dinner on February 9. All proceeds will go to the Enhancement
Team for use in future EE projects. The clock designs are a
mixture of wall, mantel or shelf. The lazy susans are 10 inches.
All are enhanced with inlay of copper or turquoise. Tickets
will be sold at the dinner for $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. Each
ticket will give you 7 or more chances to win. |
Chili Cook-off is Off
The Hospitality Committee has decided not to
hold the chili cook-off scheduled in March. Instead they will
plan another event for March 9th. The cancellation is due to the
significant electrical challenges presented by having to plug in
so many crock pots at the Ramada. |
Book Discussion Group
If the forecast for Tuesday (cold) holds true,
the Book Discussion Group will meet at 11:00 at Cindy's house,
801 Calle del Regalo. Parking on Regalo at that hour may be
difficult because of mail delivery, so please try to park on
Portillo or at the Ramada. |
The Sound of Music
The Enhancement Team's first ever concert will feature EE
resident Hewlett Crist, a world-renowned
classical guitarist playing his own compositions "Songs of
the Desert."

Time: 2:00 p.m followed by a wine and cheese reception
Where: EE Ramada

Household Hazardous Waste Event Volunteers Needed
GVC's HHW Event will be held on Saturday, March 19,
from 8:00 a.m. to noon. Cynthia Surprise and Frank
McCabe are coordinating the volunteer efforts and are
looking for a few more volunteers to help out at the event. If
you are interested, contact Cynthia (cjsurprise@verizon.net) or
Frank (ftm21@msn.com). |
How to Reserve the Ramada
Want to use the Ramada for an EE or private event or
activity? Please be sure to consult the calendar posted on
the bulletin board in the Ramada kitchen to be sure no one
else has reserved your desired date. In the event of a
conflict, HOA events take precedence over private events. To
reserve the Ramada, write your name, the time you want
(include set up and clean up time) and your phone number on
the calendar. If you want to schedule a weekly event, please
sign up for each day you want, but you can write your
contact information on just the first sign up of every
month. If you see that someone has reserved a time you
want, you may contact that person to confirm they still plan
to use the Ramada or to find out if both activities could
share the Ramada. For example, two small group meetings
would likely be able to meet without interference. We are
so fortunate to have such a wonderful meeting place.

Attention New Residents, New Car, or New Golf Cart Owners
The EE Gardeners still have a few iconic EE license
plates left to sell for $10 each. This may be your last chance
to show your pride in our neighborhood everywhere you go. To
purchase a plate, contact Cynthia
Surprise at
cjsurprise@verizon.net or (857-209-1978). |
Have New Neighbors?
EE's Bienvenidos Committee tries to welcome every new
EE resident. Please help us do that by contacting Cynthia
Surprise when
your new neighbors move in. We generally get notification when a
home sale has closed, but we often don't know when the buyer
actually moves in. |
